This album was made during a period of non-stop performing. There wasn't much time to focus on refining the recording process.
Some production notes:
It Is Too Real:
This is an early performance. A better version exists on the "In The Years" album, which was recorded six years later. There is a nice solo section here that I've excerpted in the preview.
Just The Same:
This version is the way the song was originally written. Compare this to the version recorded over ten years later on the "Ghosts Of The Past" album.
At The Movies:
Growing up in Amsterdam in the fifties, I liked the sound of blue collar workers, whistling in gangs as they walked home from work. I've liked whistling ever since.
The Swimming Pool:
Live version, recorded at "Captain Jack's" during the 80's. I've excerpted the solo section.
